'Rahul Dev Burman will always figure among the finest music composers in Bollywood. His iconic compositions, including Ek Ladki Ko Dekha (1942: A Love Story), Mehbooba (Sholay), Pyaar Karnewaale (Shaan) are appreciated by listeners even today. Such was his talent, that people claim the tune of the song Sar Jo Tera Chakraaye, was composed by Pancham (as he was affectionately referred to ) as a child. His father, music composer SD Burman liked it so much that he included it in the soundtrack of Guru Dutt ‘s Pyaasa (1957). While his musical prowess is known to the world, not many know that RD Burman was an actor too. Yes! He acted two Hindi movies. He was also offered the lead role of Bhola in Mehmood’s 1968 film Padosan.
